About the Author

Mary Oluranti Katugwa was born on November 23rd, 1959. She has a B.Sc Zoology and a Masters degree in Zoology as well from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University. She was a lecturer there, first in the School of Basic Studies, and then the Department of Biological Sciences, from 1985, until she relocated to Lagos in 1992. She worked with the Raw Materials Research & Development Council (RMRDC) from 1992-1995 before taking a break from work.

After the 6-year break to focus on raising her children, she joined the services of the Industrial Training Fund, in 2001, and resigned as a Deputy Director in November 2019.

She is an ordained deaconess in lkoyi Baptist Church, and also serves as a Sunday School teacher. She is married to her best friend, James Katugwa, and they are blessed with two lovely children and a cute grandson.
